came across these guys. i like how the words were illustrated to me makes the words stick more. i wish i could find who created these. they are so fun.

a little blueberry pickin'

We spent the day at Nathans family's house. His dad has a blueberry farm. We were just picking away. We pick for hours and we don't even make a dent in the field!
Its a nice weekend adventure we do a few times a month.
Can't wait for next years season.

yo gabba gabba cookies!

a good friend of mine approached me and was telling me how she couldn't find a place to make cookies for her daughters 1st birthday party etc etc. without being outrageously expensive. so to make a long story short, i offered to try to make the cookies for her. (mainly the fact her daughter is my god-child! haha.) oh by the way did i mention i have never made sugar cookies before, let alone decorating them with faces. oops
needless to say they turned out to be a success for my first cookie decorating attempt. the end results featured each cookie in it's own little clear bag tide with a ribbon attached to a small tag sticker that i made featuring some images I found online of yo gabba gabba characters and a line of text : happy 1st birthday isabella
they ended up being a hit at the party as well, made me feel nice and accomplished i might say :) maybe i will try more decorative baking in the future. christmas is just around the corner

dress success!

so today=awesome. cha-ching. for the first time in my life i went shopping for a particular item and ended up with FOUR! when does this ever happen? it was my lucky day. last store of the day... after a little bit of frustration. but i walked in the mall today with the intent that i was going to find something as soon as i walked in. humm.. postive intentions, who knew they worked! ;) ok, but it gets much better... because as it seems it's as if i just spent a butt load of money right. NEY. 4 cocktail dresses for 104.00 and some change. really it's crazy. fancy, frilly, this isn't your summer dress girls. we're talking night out on the town dancing in the arms of my lover kinda dress. ahhh oh and did i mention that i found dresses that actually fit. that defiantly doesn't happen very often.

found some awesome shoes as well today, but i didn't buy them. i bought another pair instead. which i now will be returning. i can be so indecisive at times.

The New Begining.

i'm not the best at writing, but i figured i'd give it a shot. let you into my world. I have always wanted to work for myself, and slowly am getting to that point. luckly with the help of my family I have been able to start to do so. i have a small store that i created in 2008 called the blue petunia. it started out having a bunch of pendents made from scrabble tiles and vintage dictionary pages. i then made a few pendents with my own illustrations: digital and hand painted. then as a month or two went on i had my first few sets of designs created for calling cards. i loved the square size, so much more exciting than the average business card size.
